In todays match of IPL 2023 Rajasthan Royals (RR) VS Kolkata Knight Riders( KKR) on Thursday, Yashasvi Jaiswal set a new record for the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal scored his fifty in just 13 deliveries, and breaks the joint-record previously held by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins, who had both scored their fifties in 14 balls.

Rahul had scored his fifty in 14 balls for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2018, while Cummins had achieved the feat for Kolkata Knight Riders against Mumbai Indians in the previous years of the IPL.
